Finding new refuge

Fleeing the violence of the Taliban, more than 10,000 Afghan refugees are being resettled in Sacramento and the Bay Area. Just as Afghans courageously stood by American soldiers in battle, we want to welcome and come alongside Afghan families to bring good news and stability during their first 6 months. You can support one recently arrived Afghan family by donating $120 per month.

I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

A lucky few survived the fall of the Taliban, made it to the Kabul airport and were able to board a plane to freedom. But America is not the promised land. With a housing shortage, skyrocketing rent, struggles with English and difficulties finding a job, many Afghan families are grappling with the stark realities of modern America.

This is our moment. The first six months are the critical time and there is a window of time during which we can step up to provide the kind of love and hospitality that we learned from Jesus!
